Day 17 - 11.08.15 - Elephants

Kelsey and I got up at 6 am so that we could catch a minibus to take us to Erwanda National Park and to Erwanda Waterfall. We arrived at 11 o'clock. The waterfall is made up of 7 tiers and you can swim in each of the pools with the gigantic fish/piranha/shark. They were massive, some maybe 50+ cm in length and thought that toes were a tasty snack.
I attempted to jump gracefully into the pool but slipped and ended up belly flopping on my side. I guess someone had to do it though. At 1 O'clock we stopped for lunch and we had a lovely Pad Thai. We then set off to elephant camp. It took another hour to get there but was so worth it! We were allowed to bathe the elephants and ride them too!! They got us absolutely soaked!
They were beautiful, and a once in a lifetime experience! Definitely worth it!! We had so much fun! It then took us 4 and a half hours to get back to Bangkok which was not so much fun. I had a delicious butter chicken curry for dinner. We are getting an early night again tonight, as we have a 10 hour bus journey to take us to our next destination - Siem Reap, Cambodia.

  1. Nice shot of the elephant......(insert own joke here). That looks amazing. What an experience. Did it remind you of when I used to carry you on my back when you were little?
