It took about 3 and a half hours to get the the Cambodian- Vietnam border and we sailed through it relatively easily. Apart from the 15 or so minutes where Kelsey was left on the Cambodian side whilst Sophie and I were on the Vietnam.
The heavens opened as we were carrying our luggage to the bus. Of course. And we all got absolutely drenched. The road to the bus was flooded so we waded through above-ankle-height water which was not pleasant. Now we have another 3 and a bit hours sitting in wet clothes. Fantastic!!

We got to our hostel, 'Saigon Backpacker's Hostel' at about half 3, it is down a very cute, very typical Asian side street.

We are also now at least trillionaires!! £1 = 35,000 dong (yes funny jokes were made).
We went for dinner at a place called fastnood, where you picked your own noodles, vegetables, meat and sauce. A bit like subway for noodles. I had vegetable noodles, with Chinese cabbage, charsiu and a terryaki sauce. And don't forget the sprinkling of sesame seeds. The waitress did. It was very very yummy.

Jokes? What jokes? Were the jokes about bells?
ReplyDeleteHi,

Just done a whistle-stop tour of Bangkok and Cambodia by catching up on your blog. Obviously all having an exciting and interesting time… and still lots of yummy and adventurous food choices! Looking forward to the next instalments about Vietnam. Go girls!
