Today we travelled an hour by bus to get to Penang National Park on the North West coast of Penang Island. It is one of the smallest national parks in the world and home to an array of monkeys, birds and other creatures. We decided to trek through the jungle to a place called Turtle Beach and then spend the day there. The trek took about an hour and 15 minutes and was 4km long.

The trek was definitely worth it!
The beach is known as turtle beach as it is a turtle nesting ground. On the beach was a turtle research centre and they had some 2 day old green turtles that we were allowed to play with!!

Afterwards, we paid for a boat to take us back to the parks main entrances on the way we saw monkeys, a white bellied sea eagle and a seal/sea lion!!

For dinner I had crispy noodles with seafood which was try nice :)
Th hostel we are staying at has a staircase that is filled with people's names who have stayed here too. We decided to add to this and drew our names on the wall
We are now all in bed getting an early night as we are catching a 12 hour bus to Phuket tomorrow, picking us up at 4:30am!!!
It's a good job you didn't lose the path on your trek, that would have been a turtle disaster....
